Florida’s Early Learning Programs

The Division of Early Learning is the lead agency for implementation of Florida’s School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programs. SR provides financial assistance to income-eligible families for child care, serving children ages birth through 13 years old, while VPK offers free prekindergarten for all 4-year-olds regardless of family income. Data shows that children who participate in VPK are more likely to enter kindergarten ready for school, setting them on a path to learn, graduate and succeed. This presentation provides an overview of both programs, including benefits of becoming a SR and/or VPK provider.
