Presentation Details
From Student Engagement to Academic Success in MathematicsStudent engagement is more than participation; it is the foundation for deep mathematical understanding. In this presentation, we will focus on how to design student-centered learning experiences that bring the Mathematical Thinking and Reasoning Standards (MTRs) to life. Through collaboration and reflection, participants will identify practical strategies to increase active engagement and connect these strategies to Florida’s Formula for Success, which defines high-quality instruction as encompassing five characteristics, the effective use of assessments to guide instructional decisions, and tiered supports to meet the needs of all learners. Participants will leave with a clear vision of how engagement serves as the bridge between instructional design and student achievement in mathematics.
